“I Do Not Understand…”

Blessings folk!

Paul is describing the struggle that he had...that we all have...with the flesh.
Carefully read the next verses…

Rom 7:14-15
For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin.
For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.

The Law is spiritual.
It revealed sin.
We know this.

We also know that we are of the flesh.
We see throughout the Word the juxtaposition of flesh/spirit.
We are sold into bondage to sin through the flesh.
This occurred at the rebellion of man in the garden of Eden.

What is the outcome?
We do not do what we want to do.
We practice something else.
We listen and follow the desire of the flesh rather than the voice of the Spirit.
We do the very things we hate.

For today, follow the Spirit, not the flesh.
Do that which He desires.
Not what we desire.

We are empowered to do so...by the Spirit.
