“Error of Balaam - 15”

Blessings folk!

Whew!

This “error Balaam” topic is going longer than I thought! Happy Happy

But, that is fine.

Slowly.
Line upon line.
Precept upon precept.

It is quite a saga to read and reflect upon.

We continue…

Balaam had just opened his mouth.
He told Balak that he could only speak what the Lord said.

Out came the Word of the Lord.
The beginning of a Word of blessing.

Balak’s response?

Num 23:11-12

Then Balak said to Balaam,
“What have you done to me?
I took you to curse my enemies,
but behold, you have actually blessed them!”

He replied, “Must I not be careful to speak what the LORD puts in my mouth?”

Balak was apoplectic!

“What have you done…”
“I took you to curs my enemies…”
“You have blessed them…”

Balak hired Balaam to curse the people.
Balaam knew that the Lord would not curse the people.
Yet, here he was.

It is all about the money.
It is all about the honor.

Balaam gets all uppity in religious spirit.
“Must I not be careful to speak what the Lord puts in my mouth?”

Yes he must.
He should have also been totally obedient to the Lord.
He should not have even been there.

His “partial” obedience would cost him, Balak and the nation of Israel.

Beware.
Do not go the way of Balaam.
