“How Blessed Are Those Who Dwell In Your House”

Blessings folk!

Are you rejoicing in the Lord?

Are you dwelling in the Presence of His joy?

Do you live in His dwelling place?

Read the Word of the the Lord from the sons of Korah…

Psa 84:1-4

For the choir director;
on the Gittith.
A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

How lovely are Your dwelling places,
O LORD of hosts!

My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the LORD;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.

The bird also has found a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,
Even Your altars, O LORD of hosts,
My King and my God.

How blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are ever praising You.
Selah.

This is the beginning of a Psalm written by the sons of Korah.
It was sent to the choir director, therefore likely intended to be sung.
The Gittith is believed to be a stringed instrument.
So, an instrumental Psalm accompanied by a string instrument.

The declaration from the beginning is a statement of the loveliness of the dwelling places of the Lord of hosts!

The Psalmist’s soul longs and yearned for the courts of the Lord, for His Presence.

The Psalmist’s heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.

Even as the bird and swallow find rest and shelter in their places, our place of rest and shelter is in the joy of the Lord.

We are to dwell in His house.
We are to dwell in His Presence.
We are to live in His joy.
We are to praise Him.
Without ceasing…
