“From Me Comes Your Fruit”

Blessings folk!

The Word of the Lord came to His people, Israel, through the prophet Hosea.

Look at what the Lord had to say about the fruit they were producing…

Hos 10:1
Israel is a luxuriant (literally means “degenerate&rdquoWinking vine;
He produces fruit for himself.
The more his fruit,
The more altars he made;
The richer his land,
The better he made the sacred pillars.

Hos 10:13
You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice,
You have eaten the fruit of lies.
Because you have trusted in your way, in your numerous warriors,

 Hos 14:2
Take words with you and return to the LORD.
Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity
And receive us graciously,
That we may present the fruit of our lips.

 Hos 14:8
O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols?
It is I who answer and look after you.
I am like a luxuriant cypress;
From Me comes your fruit.

Sounds familiar, no?

Israel:

  • Had plowed wickedness
  • Had reaped injustice
  • Had eaten of the fruit of lies
  • Had trusted in their own ways
  • Had trusted in their numerous warriors
  • Had produced fruit for themselves
  • Had made more altars, sacred pillars

Sounds like our societies.

God calls us to:
  • Take the Word of the Lord and return to Him
  • Call for Him to remove our iniquity
  • Ask Him to receive us

It is the Lord Who looks after Ephraim (Israel).

He does the same for us.
He is “like a luxuriant cypress” (different word than before…means “green, fresh, flourishing&rdquoWinking
He is the source of our fruit.

Bear the fruit of the Lord.
