“You May Believe…”
Blessings folk!
Jesus was speaking with His disciples.
He had just told them that they were clean…but not all.
There was a betrayer in their midst.
Then, Jesus says this…read…reflect…think.
John 13:19
“From now on I am telling you before it comes to pass,
so that when it does occur, you may believe that I am He.
From then on…until His exit from this corporeal existence…and beyond.
He would tell them things before they came to pass.
Why?
So that when the events occurred, they would believe that He is I AM.
That Jesus is Messiah.
That Jesus is Christ.
That Jesus is the Son of God.
I believe that this additional “insight” helped the disciples in the extremely difficult days that were ahead.
They knew that He was Messiah.
Continued remembrance of His Word would strengthen this knowledge.
Likewise, we have the Word of the Lord.
2 Pe 1:19
So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.
He has told us.
We know in advance what is to occur.
Know His Word.
Remember His Word.
