“Peaceful Fruit of Righteousness”

Blessings folk!

We saw yesterday the purpose of discipline from the Lord…

Heb 12:8-11

But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers,
then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them;
shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?

For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them,
but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.

All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful;
yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

He disciplines us for our good so that we may share His holiness.

The Lord acknowledges what we know, all discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful.

All discipline.
For the moment.
“Seems”…that is interesting. It appears to be, and yet, there is something more than meets the eye…something more than what we are experiencing in the natural.

When we have been trained by the discipline of the Lord, there is fruit.
What?
The peaceful fruit of righteousness.

Discipline yields righteousness.
Righteousness brings peace.

Notice the timing.
Afterwards.
After the discipline.
After that which is not joyful.
After that which is sorrowful.
After the training.
Then the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

Do not reject the discipline of the Lord.
View it as the Lord does.
