“My Words”
Blessings folk!
The Lord is speaking to His disciples.
He is about to depart.
We continue...
Luke 24:44-47
44 Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”
45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
46 and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,
47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
Jesus spoke much to the disciples while He was with them.
He did so to fulfill Scripture...what we call the “Old Testament”.
The Law of Moses (Gen-Due), the Prophets and the Psalms all spoke much of the coming Messiah.
Jesus fulfilled these things.
Jesus now opens their minds to understand the Scripture.
He does the same for us.
We will not understand the Scripture without the Lord revealing.
Then the Lord says “thus”...in light of what He had just said…with the understanding of the Scripture….
It is written:
- the Christ would suffer
- the Christ would rise again from the dead the third day
- repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all nations, beginning with Jerusalem.
It happened.
Just as the Scriptures declared.
It will happen.
Just as the Scriptures declare.
