“Sarah”

Blessings folk!

The Lord continues to speak to Abraham.

He had spoke of the sign of the Covenant - circumcision.

Now, a Word for Abraham’s wife, Sarai.

Gen 17:15-16

Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.

“I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her. Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”

Sarai was to receive a new name.
Remember, the Lord had changed Abraham’s name.
The Lord placed His name, Yah, in the midst of both of their names.
A sign that the Lord was with them.
A sign that He would not leave them.
They were His.

Sarai is now Sarah - means “princess”.

Look at what the Lord promised:
He would bless her.
He would give Abraham a son by her.
He would bless her through this son.
He would make her a mother of nations.
He would bring forth kings of peoples from her.

Amazing promises, especially in light of the continued barrenness of Sarah.

Wonder how she reacted?
How did Abraham react?

We will see.

How would you respond?
