Ezr 9:7
“Since the days of our fathers to this day we have been in great guilt,
and on account of our iniquities we,
our kings and our priests have been given
into the hand of the kings of the lands,
to the sword,
to captivity and
to plunder and
to open shame,
as it is this day.

Ezra spoke the truth.

He gave the time frame - from the days of their fathers.

He gave the problem - they were guilty.
Guilty of iniquities.
They had sinned against the Lord.

Because of iniquities they had suffered and continued to suffer.

Leadership being given into the hands of the kings of other lands…
The sword…
Captivity…
Plunder…
Open shame…

It continued to that day.

It continues today to those who reject the Most High.
