“Work of Service”

Blessings folk!

Do not grow tired of this passage!
Read it slowly again…

Eph 4:11-13

And He gave some as apostles,
and some as prophets,
and some as evangelists,
and some as pastor
and teachers,

for the equipping of the saints for the work of service,
to the building up of the body of Christ;

until we all attain to the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
to a mature man,
to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

So, some are given for particular roles and functions.

We see the purpose - to equip the saints.

Equip the saints for what?

  1. Work of service
  2. Building up of the Body of Christ

Think on that for a moment.

Each saint, “holy one”…True Believer…has a work of service that the Lord has granted.

Look at what the Lord had told us earlier in Ephesians…

Eph 2:10
For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

We are the Lord’s workmanship!
We are created in Christ Jesus for good works.
These good works were prepared by God “beforehand” for us to walk in…to do!
“Beforehand”? Yep.
Before we were saved.
Before we were born.
Before the foundations of the earth.

The Lord has a good work through us that He has designed.
A work for today.

Are we doing it?

…to be continued…
