“In My Name They Will Cast Out Demons”

Blessings folk!

Do you Believe?

Do you believe that Jesus is who He and Father said He is?
Do you believe His Word?
Do you believe His deed?

The scripture is clear.
Those who believe will be accompanied by signs.

We have seen them the past couple of days.

Think a little more…

Mar 16:14-18

Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table;
and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart,
because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

“He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved;
but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

“These signs will accompany those who have believed:
in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;

they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Notice the signs will accompany believers.
Too often folk “seek the signs” rather than seeking the life of the Kingdom accompanied by signs.

Those who believe will, in the name of the Lord, cast out demons.

There are many examples in the Word of believers doing exactly that.
Here is one…

Act 16:16-18

It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer,
a slave-girl having a spirit of divination met us,
who was bringing her masters much profit by fortune-telling.

Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying,
“These men are bond-servants of the Most High God,
who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.”

She continued doing this for many days.
But Paul was greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit,
“I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!”
And it came out at that very moment.

A spirit of divination was with the girl.
An unholy spirit.
She spoke the truth - “there men are bond-servants…” - so, why would it irritate Paul.

He did not want the true God to be associated with false gods.

After a period of days, Paul commanded the spirit by the name of Jesus Christ to leave the girl.

It did.

This precipitated a cascade of interesting events…beyond our point now.

In His name signs will accompany believers.
They will cast out demons.
They will set the captive free.
