“Family: Masters…”

Blessings folk!

The Lord has been showing us how we as Believers are to relate to one another.

Again, these are Believers.

Therefore, there are Believers that are slaves, husbands, wives, children, father.

Now, masters.

Col 4:1
Masters, grant to your slaves justice and fairness, knowing that you too have a Master in heaven.

Note what masters are to do.
Grant to their slaves justice.
Grant to their slaves fairness.

Such is somewhat alien in our cultural thoughts.
How can one be a slave, yet receive justice and fairness?

Remember what we have previously learned…

Col 3:11
a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

One is renewed within the inner man.
Circumstances without might remain the same.

Life in Christ is for all man, regardless of “position/status” in society.

Masters are to also remember that they have a Master in heaven.
Knowing this will give guidance in providing justice and fairness.
The justice of God, not of man.
The fairness of God, not of man.

Masters, rule rightly in justice, fairness and love.
