“Your Own Right Hand…”

Blessings folk!

The Lord had challenged Job to gird up his loins like a man…to get ready for action.

The Lord then challenges Job again.

Let me tell you upfront.

He tells Job to do what the Lord does.

If Job is to question God, then Job can deal with things himself.

If Job can do all this, then the Lord will acknowledge that Job can save himself.

And Job will know this.

Job 40:10-14

“Adorn yourself with majesty and dignity;
clothe yourself with glory and splendor.

Pour out the overflowings of your anger,
and look on everyone who is proud and abase him.

Look on everyone who is proud and bring him low
and tread down the wicked where they stand.

Hide them all in the dust together;
bind their faces in the world below.

Then will I also acknowledge to you
that your own right hand can save you.

The Lord can be forthright, bold, “snarky”?, etc. …all without sin.

He is making a strong point.

If Job is questioning the Lord, then Job can take care of the matter himself.
Adorn.
Clothe.
Pour out anger.
Look upon and bring low.
Tread down the wicked.
Hide them.
Bind them.

Of course, he can not.
Of course, Job had already said he would place his hand over his mouth.
He continued to do so.

All while listening to the Lord reveal layer after layer of pointed information.

Whoa!
