"Run the Way…"

“Run the Way…”

Blessings folk!

The Psalmist’s soul is shattered.
He describes it as “my soul melts away for sorrow” and “my soul weeps for grief”.
He cries out to the Lord to remove the false from him.
He cries for the strength and the grace of the Law of the Lord, the testimonies of the Lord, the ordinances of the Lord, the commandments of the Lord.

Watch what the result is…

Psalm 119:28-32
28 My soul weeps because of grief; Strengthen me according to Your word.
29 Remove the false way from me, And graciously grant me Your law.
30 I have chosen the faithful way; I have placed Your ordinances before me.
31 I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame!
32 I shall run the way of Your commandments, For You will enlarge my heart.

We have all felt like this at some point.
Have we responded in the manner of the Psalmist?
Did we seek the Lord?
Did we seek His Word?

The Word will strengthen.
We can cling to the testimonies, the Law, the ordinances of God.
They will not put us to shame.

If we “run the way of Your commandments” (is that not a great phrase), then the Lord will enlarge our heart.

Enlarge our heart?
Rather than weeping we will have joy!
Rather than smallness of heart, we will have fulness of the Spirit beyond anything possible in the flesh.

The Lord enlarges our heart.
Allow Him.
Run with God.
