“Word of the Lord Fulfilled”

Blessings folk!

The Angel of the Lord struck and 185,000 enemy soldiers were struck down in one evening.

The Lord protected Jerusalem.

What did the king of Assyria do?
Humorous if not so sad.
He went home.

But remember the Word of the Lord spoken through Isaiah to King Hezekiah?

2Ki 19:6-7

Isaiah said to them, “Thus you shall say to your master (Hezekiah), ‘Thus says the LORD, “Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.

“Behold, I will put a spirit in him so that he will hear a rumor and
return to his own land. And I will make him fall by the sword in his own land.

Now, watch what happened.

2Ki 19:35-37

Then it happened that night that the angel of the LORD went out and struck 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians; and when men rose early in the morning, behold, all of them were dead.

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and returned home, and lived at Nineveh.

It came about as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son became king in his place.

The king of Assyria headed back home.
Might as well, considering that his army has been annihilated by the Angel of the Lord.

Apparently losing the entire army did not go down well at home.
One day the King of Assyria was worshiping his god Nisroch.
Two of his sons arose and killed him.
They fled to Ararat.
Another son became king.

The Word of the Lord fulfilled.
