“Why Another Priest?”

“Why Another Priest?”

Blessings folk!

We now get to the crux of the truth related to Melchizedek and Abram.

Remember, we are examining Abram(ham) beginning with the Hebrews 11 passage declaration of his being one of the great cloud of witnesses.

Abram honored Melchizedek with tithes of the spoils of war.
Melchizedek blessed Abram.

Now, the next verse in Hebrews 7 asks a profound question.
Read it.
Consider each detail.
Meditate upon it.

Heb 7:11

Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the people received the Law), what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be designated according to the order of Aaron?

The people received the Law (Mosaic) from the Lord.
Part of the Law was the Levitical priesthood.
It is described here as “perfection”…the idea being completion, fulfillment.

If the Law was complete…
If the Levitical priesthood was complete…
If they fulfilled the desire and Word of the Lord…
Then “what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek”?
Why the need for another priest not designated according to the order of Aaron?

What was the “order of Melchizedek?
A priest of the Most High God…long before the Lord gave the Law.
Without genealogy.
Without “credentials” for the priesthood under the Law.
A King - the King of Salem/Righteousness.
A Priest.

Why another priest?
We will see.

Who was/is the other priest?
We will see…I suspect you know. Happy

Remember, we live by faith.
The Lord’s ways are not our ways.
