“David, King of Israel”

Blessings folk!

The day had come.
The kingdom would be unified under David.

2Sa 5:1-5

Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said,
“Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

“Previously, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and in. And the LORD said to you, ‘You will shepherd My people Israel, and you will be a ruler over Israel.’”

So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them before the LORD at Hebron; then they anointed David king over Israel.

David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years.

At Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months,
and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

The tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron.
They acknowledged that Saul had been king over them.
They acknowledged David was the one who led Israel…in battle.
They acknowledged that the Lord had proclaimed that David would shepherd HIs people Israel.

David would be ruler.

Therefore, the elders of Israel came to David.
King David made a covenant with them.
This is significant.
David initiated.
(In the Scripture we see that God always initiated covenant&hellipWinking
They anointed David king.

David was to rule for forty years.

We shall see…
