“What Does It Mean...?”
Blessings folk! Peter, James and John had just seen the Lord transfigured. Peter had “stuck his foot in his mouth.”
They had heard the voice of Father telling them... - this is My Beloved Son - listen to Him
Jesus then told them to tell no one about the incident until after He was raised from the dead.
They wondered...read and see...
Mar 9:9-10
As they were coming down from the mountain, He gave them orders not to relate to anyone what they had seen, until the Son of Man rose from the dead.
They seized upon that statement, discussing with one another what rising from the dead meant.
“They seized upon that statement...” Which statement?
“until the Son of Man rose from the dead...”.
It appears that they had been wondering about what Jesus had been saying about His dying and rising from the dead.
Now, when He says this, they begin to discuss it among themselves.
What does rising from the dead mean? Did Jesus literally mean that He would die and then live again? Can such occur?
They decided to inquire further, in an oblique way...more later. For now...
Yes! He is risen from the dead!
