“The Lord Said to Eliphaz…”

Blessings folk!

We have come to the end of the questions the Lord had for Job.

What was the purpose?

Many.

Primary is that the Lord wanted Job to know Who He was and who Job is.
The wonder of the Lord.
The glory of the Lord.
The all-encompassing power of the Lord.

Job had been right in what he had said to his three friends that visited.

Read what the Lord says to the friends.

Job 42:7-9

After the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite:
“My anger burns against you and against your two friends,
for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.

Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves.
And my servant Job shall pray for you,
for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly.
For you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.”

So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did what the LORD had told them, and the LORD accepted Job’s prayer.

The Lord spoke to Job.

Now the Lord spoke to Eliphaz.
The Lord’s anger burned against the three.
They had not spoken what was right of the Lord.
Job, the Lord’s servant, had spoken rightly.

The Lord offered them forgiveness.

They were to bring a burnt offering…not to Job, but to the Lord.
They were to do so with Job.

Job was to pray for them.
He did.
The Lord heard.
The Lord accepted Job’s prayer on behalf of his friends.

Humm….

Do we pray for one another?
Or, do we prey on one another?

Do we do what the Lord tells us to do?
Or, do we do what we want to do?

Do we walk in humility before the Lord as did Job and his friends?
