"Owe"

“Owe”

Blessings folk!

Loving OneAnother consists of deeds.

We will examine the following passage the next few days.

Read.
Meditate.
Seek the Lord.
He will speak.

Romans 13:8-10
8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
9 For this, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

One point today.
“Owe nothing…”

This destroys the foundation of economic life in the western world.
Our “money” is a debt instrument.
Such is stated on each Federal Reserve Note.

We are to owe only love.

So many individuals and organizational churches ignore this.

I remember some 35+ years ago hearing a pastor proclaim “a church alive will always be in debt”.
He was talking money.
He was talking building programs.
He was wrong.

Yes, I understand that debt is a financial instrument that can be used wisely.
But, for the most part, debt is not use that way.

Owe nothing to anyone.
Except the debt of love.
