“Revive Your Works…”

Blessings folk!

The years do fly by.

The house that I am sitting in at the moment was destroyed by a tornado 45 years ago last night.

I remember it like it was yesterday.

I lived some 5 miles south at the time, but tornados were skipping about the region…I believe 21 hit that night. Several of the strongest EF5 type.

Many died.

Several dozen died while having a prayer meeting in a church building in Guin, AL.

Yeah, have lived through two of these “once-in-a-lifetime” events. LOL

God is good.

Think on the prayer Habakkuk offered.

Here is the first part…

Hab 3:1-2

A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, according to Shigionoth.

LORD, I have heard the report about You and I fear.
O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years,
In the midst of the years make it known;
In wrath remember mercy.

Shigionoth is a poetic/musical style.
A mode of expression.

Habakkuk had heard the report of what the Lord had done.
Habakkuk feared…literally means “I stand in awe of Your work, O LORD; In the midst of the years revive it.”

Are we not amazed by the work of the Lord?
Personally.
Corporately.

Habakkuk then requested.
“Revive Your work in the midst of the years…make it known…”

This is our cry today.

Revive Your work!

Especially in the midst of the years of our lives.
There is something here related to the years that the Lord has given us.

Are we open to His reviving His work in our lives in the midst of our later years?

I believe the Lord is wanting to pour forth His Spirit…especially upon those who have years in the faith.

Make it so Lord.
