As we have previously seen, John preached a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins

John did not stop there.
John did something that is rare today.
John confronted sin.
He did so at the highest level of political power.

John repeatedly spoke to Herod about Herod’s many sins, especially the one of taking his brother’s wife as his own.

Eventually Herod had John arrested. We will see the end of the story later.

We need more who will do likewise, who will address sin, who will speak as the Spirit leads regardless of the consequences.

Most of the church today refuses the leadership of the Spirit in such matter.

We speak of being “submissive” to leadership while we are cowering in fear and rejecting the move of God, all guised in a pseudo-humility manifesting powerlessness.

We wait for “someone to do something” while the Lord is seeking to use us.

Determine today to speak the Truth as the Lord leads.
Fear not the outcome.
