Blessings folk!

The people had been summoned to Jerusalem by Ezra and the leadership.

They had three days to arrive.

Would they come?
What would happen?

Ezra 10:9

So all the men of Judah and Benjamin assembled at Jerusalem within the three days.
It was the ninth month on the twentieth of the month, and all the people sat in the open square before the house of God, trembling because of this matter and the heavy rain.

They came!
Note the precise time - 9th month, 20th day.
All the people…not just men…gathered in the square before the house of God.

They were trembling.
Trembling because of the matter at hand.
Trembling because of the heavy rain.

Heavy rain?

Yes, we will see more.

Could God not have stopped the rain?
Of course He could have.

Did God “send” the rain?
Perhaps

Was there a picture here?
The heavens “mourning” over the sin of the people?
The heavens a picture of the people mourning?

Perhaps.

Still, the people gathered.
They did not use the “weather” as an excuse to not attend…
