“Ask In Prayer”

“Ask In Prayer”

Blessings folk!

Look at the last verse of the “parable of the sower” account.

Mat 21:22

“And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

What does this mean?

Does it mean that all I have to do to get what I want is to ask in a particular kind of way - “in prayer”?

Does it mean that if “I believe” God is required by His Word to do what I want?

Knowing the balance of the Word gives us understanding.

No, this is not a statement of “just pray and I’ll give you what you want”.

The idea is this.

When we pray, we are receiving…again, receiving…from the Lord.
We are gaining understanding.
We are communing with Him.
We are not bringing a list of personal demands before Him.

We pray.
We believe what He says
We receive.

Note…

1Jo 5:14-15

This is the confidence which we have before Him,
that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask,
we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

According to His will!
We learn.
We then align our will with His will.
We pray.
He hears.
He does.

There is more…asking, seeking, knocking, abiding, asking amiss…we will see later.

For today, confidently seek the Lord and His will.

He will reveal.
