“David’s Spoil”

Blessings folk!

The revived Egyptian slave brought David to where the raiders were.

1Sa 30:16-20

When he had brought him down, behold, they were spread over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing because of all the great spoil that they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

David slaughtered them from the twilight until the evening of the next day;
and not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled.

So David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and rescued his two wives.

But nothing of theirs was missing, whether small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything that they had taken for themselves; David brought it all back.

So David had captured all the sheep and the cattle which the people drove ahead of the other livestock, and they said, “This is David’s spoil.”

David and his men fought and slaughtered the Amalekites.
From twilight of one day to the evening of the next.
Not a man escaped, except for four hundred young men who fled by camels.

David recovered all that had been taken.
David rescued all…including his two wives.

Nothing was missing.
All the people, returned.
All the stuff, recovered.

David captured the sheep and cattle of the Amalekites.
The people declared that David should retain this spoil.

The same people that were calling for the stoning of David now gave him the spoil of victory.

David inquired of the Lord.
David comforted himself in the Lord.

The Lord was faithful to HIs Word.
He still is.
