"Outsiders..."

“Outsiders…”

Blessings folk!

The Spirit continues to instruct us.

Col 4:5
Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.

“Outsiders” refers to those who are outside of the faith. Unbelievers.

We are to conduct ourselves with wisdom toward them.
What does this mean?
Must we be careful to not be entrapped by their sin?
Certainly.
There are many other possible understandings.

The last phrase gives a clue to the proper interpretation.

“Making most of the opportunity” related to them.

This means that we conduct ourselves in a manner before them in which we are always seizing the opportunities to present the gospel, to manifest the Presence of the Lord, to love them with the love of the Lord.

We conduct our selves in a manner that will open the Kingdom for them.

We manifest “agape” love. Love that has what is best for the other as the highest goal.

May we do so.
