Gen 3:1
Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman,
“Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?”

Planting doubt.
Planting fear.

We saw yesterday that the angel told Mary to fear not.

Others in the birth narrative were told the same…

Luk 2:8-10

And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night.

And an angel of the Lord appeared to them,
and the glory of the Lord shone around them,
and they were filled with great fear.

And the angel said to them,
“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

The shepherds were going about their job. (Who they were/might have been is interesting&hellip
They were watching the flock.
When, suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared to them.
When, suddenly, the glory of the Lord shone around them.

Surprise and fear would be the natural response!

The angel told them to fear not.

Why?

Because the angel brought good news.
Good news of great joy for all people.

Good News=Gospel.

We as true believers are bearers of this Good News.
The Good News literally dwells within us.

Therefore, we are empowered to live the Good News and resist/reject the fear that comes against us.

Reject the fear of the flesh.
Reject the manipulation of evil.

Choose to walk in the boldness of faith!
