“Fed Up…”

How did things go “on the night bed” last evening?

Keep pressing in and on.

Worship the Lord continuously.

Pray without ceasing.

The Lord is preparing and using a mighty army for the Kingdom of God.

Yesterday I posted the following as “my status” on the various social networks - FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, Yahoo, Imeem, etc.

“...so, your getting ‘fed-up’ with it...what are you gonna do?”

Had several interesting responses.

Of course, folk always want to know “what do you mean?”

I meant several things…

But primarily, there is a stirring afoot among believers...a move of the Spirit...a move that is bringing correction to self and motivation to speak forth the truth.

The status quo is no longer satisfactory.

The Lord is calling us to speak to those in the church…

  • to encourage
  • to exhort
  • to pursue love

The Lord is calling us to speak to the world…
  • to proclaim the good news of the love of the Lord
  • to proclaim salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ
  • to call for repentance, confession and transformation in the Lord.

The Lord is calling us to be the salt of the earth.

The Lord is calling us to be the light of the world.

So, you are “fed-up”. What are you gonna do?

I like my friend’s Flipper response…”push away from the table.”
There is much wisdom in this...especially for the church.
Too many believers are “stuffed” with truth they refuse to give out.
It is time to “give out” as well as “take in.”

Here are the things we are to do…

  • Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness
  • Wait for Him to add the other things
  • Pray without ceasing
  • Rejoice
  • Be obedient
  • Be Berean...don’t just trust what someone told you or what you think you know the Word says...study to show yourself approved.
  • Be faithful
  • Pursue holiness
  • Pursue love
  • Die to self

Of course, more could be listed.

If the Lord stirs within you to do something, then do it.
If the Lord leads you to speak to the Body of Christ, then do it.
If the Lord leads you to speak to the sins of society, then do it.
If the Lord leads you to address family, friends, co-workers, etc., then do it.

Speak forth the truth.

Fear not.

Who knows, perhaps it is not too late for our families.
Perhaps it is not too late for the country in which we live.

With God, all things are possible.

Matt 19:26
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
KJV

Mark 10:27
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
KJV

Luke 18:27
27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
KJV

With God, nothing is impossible.

Luke 1:37
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
KJV

“Seven Times a Day…”

Blessings Folk!!

We have seen that we are to pray without ceasing…

1 Thess. 5:17
Pray without ceasing

How do we pray without ceasing?
Do we not sleep?
Do we not work?
Etc. etc.

We have spoke of this in the past.

Prayer is communication and communion with God.

A true believer indwelled by the Holy Spirit should always be in communion with God. The only time we are not is when we choose to...when we choose to sin.

The Word gives us some interesting insight into how this is practically lived.

Ps 55:17
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
KJV

Give close attention to this verse...

Ps 119:164
Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.
KJV

The Psalmist declared that seven times a day he would praise the Lord.

Here is another…

Ps 119:62
62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.
KJV

Then…
Ps 63:6
When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
KJV

The Psalmist declared that he would worship the Lord all day.

Does this mean that he used a structured approach?...6, 9, noon, 3, 6, 9 midnight…?

Perhaps.

The main principle is that we are to praise, pray and worship without ceasing.

Even upon our bed in the night watches.

I believe...and know by experience…that some of the most intense and intimate times of worship that I have ever experienced have been during sleep...while the body is resting.

We see such here…

Ps 42:8
Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
KJV

Ps 77:6
I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
KJV

Ps 119:55
I have remembered thy name, O Lord , in the night, and have kept thy law.
KJV

Ps 149:5
Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
KJV

Try it.

Pray, worship, praise without ceasing today.

Then tonight, as you prepare for the night bed, ask the Lord to join you as you sleep.

Let me know what happens. Happy Happy

“God’s Will…”

Blessings Folk!!

There is a question that is often asked in the Body of Christ.

What is God’s will for me?

We saw the answer in our last time together.

Didn’t see it?

Fret not...look again…

1 Thess 5:14-22

14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
16 Rejoice always
17 Pray without ceasing
18 In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
20 Do not despise prophecies
21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.
22 Abstain from every form of evil

What is the will of God?

The Lord makes if very clear.

His will is that we should…

Rejoice always.
Pray without ceasing.
Give thanks in everything.
Warn the unruly.
Comfort the faint-hearted.
Uphold the weak.
Be patient with all.
Do not quench the Spirit.
Do not despise prophecies.
Test all things.
Hold fast to what is good.
Abstain from every form of evil.

This is the will of God.

But look at the detail…

This is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

God’s will is manifested in Christ Jesus for each believer to be lived out by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Most of the time when someone is seeking “the will of God” it is related to a particular decision, direction, etc.

This is fine.

But, how much more would we understand if we would simply do what God tells us.

If we do what He says - rejoice, pray, give thanks, etc. - then I suspect that the will of God would be abundantly clear.

It goes to that which we have examined so many times in the past - seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness...everything else will be added.

Are you still reflecting upon the other phrase?….”upon your night bed”?

Ps 63:6
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
KJV

More next time...it relates to praying without ceasing… Happy Happy

Meanwhile, let us do the will of God...be obedient.

Pray especially for the Reed family...homegoing of godly matriarch Jean. Also pray for Herman.
