“Peculiarly Equipped”
Blessings Folk!
We are not of this world.
John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
KJV
We are a peculiar people.
1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
KJV
We are not “equipped” in the manner of the world.
If (and I do use that word purposefully...not all who profess to be believers unto salvation are truly saved&hellip
you are saved, then the Holy Spirit dwells within you.
Jesus told us that the Father would send through the Son another (of the same kind) that would do some specific things.
The country in which most of us live is in turmoil...ever increasing turmoil.
There is debate. There is discussion.
The bottom line is this...there is truth and there is lie.
We, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, are not of the world.
We are not limited to debate, discussion and the processes of man to determine truth.
We are equipped by the Most High God to discern truth from error/lie.
The Body of Christ has been given the very Presence of God, the Holy Spirit.
He will give us discernment in all things.
This does not mean that each individual believer will have knowledge and understanding in all things. The Holy Spirit gives “spirituals” to the Body for the upbuilding and edifying of the Body. The word of wisdom and word of knowledge are two such. The Spirit gives when and to whom the Lord desires for the Body.
In the midst of our current situation, we would do well to function within the Spirit rather than within the natural. Take just a moment and read what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit...
John 14:12-17
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
KJV
John 14:26-27
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
KJV
John 15:26-27
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
KJV
John 16:7-15
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
KJV
I know how you feel with the issues of the day.
I experience the same.
I see/hear the thoughts of many and want to respond. I have it all laid out...logical, perhaps even a stumbling into coherence...yet, my mind is jumbled and fragmented. Then, I realize that I’m responding more in the flesh...though what I’m saying is true… the response is not lead and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
We must speak the truth in the Spirit.
Remember, our weapons are not as the worlds…
2 Cor 10:3-4
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
NASU
Lastly, we are to live in the following manner...
2 Cor 6:1-10
1 Working together with Him, we also appeal to you: "Don't receive God's grace in vain."
2 For He says: In an acceptable time, I heard you, and in the day of salvation, I helped you. Look, now is the acceptable time; look, now is the day of salvation.
3 We give no opportunity for stumbling to anyone, so that the ministry will not be blamed.
4 But in everything, as God's ministers, we commend ourselves: by great endurance, by afflictions, by hardship, by pressures,
5 by beatings, by imprisonments, by riots, by labors, by sleepless nights, by times of hunger,
6 by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love,
7 by the message of truth, by the power of God; through weapons of righteousness on the right hand and the left,
8 through glory and dishonor, through slander and good report; as deceivers yet true;
9 as unknown yet recognized; as dying and look—we live; as being chastened yet not killed;
10 as grieving yet always rejoicing; as poor yet enriching many; as having nothing yet possessing everything.

Speak forth the truth empowered by the Spirit.
Trust God.
Lean not on your own understanding.

“Train Up…”
Blessings Folk!!
Well, locally the summer is over and government schools begin this week.
Let us pray for the students, teachers, administrator and support staff.
Now, pray for parents and families.
Hear me carefully...time for a preemptive disclaimer…
I know many, many good, God-fearing educators. Where we live we are blessed with Superintendents of Education that are strong believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. We have many teachers who are believers without compromise. Many know the truth of the Word and the truth of the law.
We are blessed.
Most places are not this way.
So, first of all, there are many true believers in educational circles.
Second, I know a little about this...have advanced academic degrees in education. If I had pursued teaching within government schools I would have 32+ years. Wait!! I would have retired 2 years ago...oh well…
Therefore, I declare to you that there are serious problems with the way that we as believers are “raising” our children.
The bottom line is this.
We pay somebody else to do what the Lord tells us to do.
We pay the teacher/system to teach our children.
We place our children under the tutelage of others...and do so at a younger and younger age. It really breaks my heart when I see parents “enrolling” their children in school at age 2.
Do parents really know what they are doing?
Do parents really understand what they are missing?
Do parents really understand the role they are abdicating?
Here is what the Lord says…
Prov 22:6
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
KJV
Deut 6:6-7
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
KJV
So, heed the word of warning...
Do not depend upon the schools to “educate” and train your child...at least in the ways of the Lord...
Do not hope that “the church” will teach your child.
Parents have the primary role.
Grandparents and other family members are very important.
The Body of Christ has an important function.
Parents, train up your child.
You only have a few years for the task.
A quick Bible story at bedtime will not do.
A weekly sunday school class and yearly “vacation bible school” are inadequate.
Set aside your wants and desires for that which is best for your children.
We must teach…
- diligently
- talking as you sit in the house
- talking as you walk (travel)
- as you lie down
- as you rise up
Seek the Lord as to what He would have you to do.
- Perhaps He will direct you to enroll your child in government schools.
- Perhaps He will direct you to enroll your child in a private/religious/parochial school. (Though subject matter is often better than government schools, the methodologies are usually those of man&hellip
- Perhaps He will lead you to teach your child - homeschool - fear not, the Lord thy God is with thee!
The important thing is that we as parents seek the Lord with every breath and speak/live of such before our children.
Folk, let us tell our children of…
- the ways of the Lord
- the wonders of the Lord
- the works of God
- what He has done in our lives
Why?
That they might put their hope in God...read the following…
Ps 78:1-8
1 Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
3 Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord , and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
KJV
The Lord has given us a tremendous blessing in our children.
If you want to know more about the true foundation of government education go to this website. Read the book. It is free online. Read the author’s bio. You will have to press through. The book is factual, intense and highly detailed.
