“Prepared?”

Blessings Folk!!

Are you preparing?

Preparing for what?

Difficult, difficult times are immediately ahead of us.

  • the current “economic crisis” is deepening. Do not believe the phrase of the day - “green shoots”. We are experiencing a “false rebound”, much like occurred in the 1920s-30. More economic chaos is on the horizon. Nearly one hundred trillion in unfunded mandates in our nation alone. You think the “housing crisis” is bad? Wait until the commercial property hits. Derivatives are a $500 trillion nightmare of which most people are unaware.

  • officially, unemployment is around 9.5%. The actual figure today is somewhere around 15-18%. This will increase dramatically.

  • food shortages will soon occur. Food riots will take place.

  • diseases will increase...this is already occurring in many metro areas.

  • political chaos will increase

  • varied forms of secession and reorganization will occur

  • chaos and terror are just over the horizon

  • gangs will increase...already more than one million are involved in such

- there will be an increasing demarcation between the true Body of Christ and the “false professors”… believers vs. deceived; wheat vs. tares.

I believe that we are seeing the beginning of all these.
I believe that they will be in full bloom within 2-3 years.

We are bearing, and will continue to do so, the fruit of the evil deceptions of 1787, 1850-60’s, 1913, 2008-2009 and the like.

Encouraged?

Perhaps not. Happy

But, we should rejoice that the Lord has called us to this time.

We are to be the salt of the earth.

Matt 5:13
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
KJV

We are to be the light of the world.

Matt 5:14
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
KJV

The Lord has brought each of us to this point for such a time as this...

Est 4:14
14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
KJV

Our hope is not in man and his strategies and answers.

Our hope is in the Lord.

Ps 39:7
7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
KJV

We must have a Warrior mentality…though not in the manner of the world.

Eph 6:12-13
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
NASU

We must aggressive seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Matt 6:33
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
KJV

We must consistently pursue holiness.

1 Thess 4:7
7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
KJV

We must always die to self.

Rom 8:12-13
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
KJV

We must live and breathe and have our very being in the Lord alone.

Acts 17:28
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
KJV

We must trust the Lord.

Prov 3:5
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
KJV

We must be obedient.

2 Cor 10:5-6
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
KJV

Take a couple of questions before the Lord...

Are you preparing...in the spirit...dying to self...in the Word...living completely and totally in the Spirit, or, are you still exhibiting patterns and practices of the world?

Ask the Lord to purge you of all attitudes, thoughts, concepts, understandings, etc. that are not truth from Him.

Are you allowing all things to be used of God as a “training ground” for that which is yet to come?

Ask the Lord to use you today and in the darker days yet to come.

Then, rejoice!
The Lord is with us!
We will shine as the stars in the firmament.

Dan 12:3
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
KJV

We know the outcome. What? You do not know. Immerse yourself in the Word… Happy

Press on and fear not for the Lord our God is with us!!

Blessings!!

“Strangers - Slaves?”

Blessings Folk!!!

Well, well...our most recent time together precipitated some interesting conversation.

As you will remember, we recounted a couple of stories of ‘strangers’ amongst us… ladies selling some rather expensive children’s books.

Here is one of my favorite responses...hope it is ok to forward Happy Happy

One of these sweet ladies came to our house.  My husband mentioned we had a birthday celebration for our son the day before.  When we were discussing the fact that she gets college credit for showing these things, she mentioned the birthday.  She said, “Do you have any cake left?”.  I told her we sure did and asked if she would like a piece of cake.  She said yes – and we still talked while she ate the cake.  I explained to her that we are on a fixed income and would not buy the things she was selling, since we have no little ones.  She was very gracious and said she understood.  When she got ready to leave, she asked if maybe she could have another piece of cake.  I asked if she would like to take it with her and she said, “I’ll eat I here if that’s o.k.”  Bottom line: I thoroughly enjoyed her visit and hope she does well with her project.

A precious encounter.

But, there may be a darker side to all this than we knew.

Someone I trust without reservation, who is in a realm of endeavor that leads to such knowledge, forwarded the following…

It really sounds like they are part of what is called modern day slavery. This is an issue we are really trying to help change. Thousands of women are trafficked each year to different countries being promised a better life and only find out that when they get there they are forced to work laborious jobs if not sex jobs and then only given minimal food, clothing and supplies. There's a group in Birmingham that works to rescue women and children in this slavery. They are called Rescue and Restore Alabama and they are on FB (Facebook). If someone there is willing, bring these ladies in and try to gain their confidence. Give them a meal, offer them help contacting folks back home...anything. But first get in touch with this organization. Perhaps you will be rescuing a woman who was trafficked from her country to America only to find she was lied to. I'll be home in 3 weeks, so if they are still around, I'll talk with them, but they move a lot...I am going to forward this to Laura Mitchell who now lives in B'ham. She's all over this issue.

Well now…

We know not what the Lord may be doing.

We may simply be providing a cup of water that is needed.

We may used to “set the captive free.”

Luke 4:18-19
18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
19 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD."
NASU

John 8:31-32
31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
NASU

Listen to that “twinge” within your spirit. We are so easily distracted by the “cares and concerns of the world” that we do not see that something far more significant is taking place before our very eyes.

Mark 4:18-19
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
KJV

May we see with the eyes of the Lord.
May we speak with the Words of the Lord.
May our hands and hearts execute the deeds of the Lord.

Share of the resources with which the Lord has blessed us.
Impart the Life of the Most High God - proclaim the Good News of salvation in the Lord Jesus.

Move only in the Spirit of the Lord and watch what He does!

Fear not, the Lord our God is with you.

The Lord is setting the captive free - in the spirit and in the natural.

Heb 12:12-13
12 Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,
13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.
NASU

Blessings!

“Strangers…”

Blessings Folk!!

Been having an interesting thing happen locally...several lessons to be discerned.

For those of y’all distant...we live in the middle hole of the Bible belt…it is a blessed and special place. Things that are “normal” elsewhere are “unusual” here. There is nowhere else I’d rather be.

Here is what is occurring.

Apparently there are two women who are going from house to house selling children’s magazines. In and of itself not that unusual...though less a common occurrence today than in days past.

A couple of things make these encounters different.

First, the ladies “ain’t from around here.” Happy Happy I was told that they spoke with accents and that one said she was from “Astonia”….I suspect the reporter meant “Estonia”. Estonia is a former Soviet Union conquest that has a long, rich history of independence and liberty. A wonderful people. Get the movie “The Singing Revolution.” It is an account of how the people of Estonia defeated a repressive government...hummm...with a song. Yes, with singing. This happened in our life times. Yep, I know. Most likely you have never heard about it. Watch the movie.

But, I digress.

So? A couple of hard-working individuals. What is the big deal?

Some of their actions have been interesting...described as “weird”, “strange”, “freaking people out” and the like.

On one occasion one of the ladies asked for some toothpaste.
Another asked for a sandwich or a granola bar.
Another asked for a drink.

Different? In our community, yes. Folk here would do anything for each other, but it is a little outside the norm to have a door to door salesperson (I’m so PC!) to asked for food.

But, should be be fearful? Should we be offended?

No. In most of the world this would be common.

In many places in our society we see such...beggars, those who work street corners, etc.

The Word of the Lord tells us about such situations.
The Lord tell us what to do.

There are dozens of verses in the Word which speak to meeting the needs of those who are poor, who are homeless, the stranger among us, the traveler, the hungry, the thirsty.

Deut 15:11
11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
KJV

2 Cor 9:7-15
7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
9 as it is written, "HE SCATTERED ABROAD, HE GAVE TO THE POOR, HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ENDURES FOREVER."
10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;
11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.
12 For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.
13 Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all,
14 while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.
15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
NASU

We are to meet the needs of the poor.
We are to feed the hungry.
We are to give drink to the thirsty.
We are to give as we have purposed in our hearts...that is an interesting phrase…
We are to give cheerful...not by compulsion, manipulation, witchcraft.

Even if it is a “scary” Estonian children book saleslady… Happy Happy

Who knows when we may be entertaining an “angel unawares”?

Heb 13:1-2
13 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
KJV

Do not forget to entertain strangers.
Do not be fearful.
Certainly, be wise in the Spirit.

Let the Love of the Lord be manifest in your life.
Aggressively sow the seed of provision from the Lord through us to others…

Blessings!!

“Peculiarly Equipped”

Blessings Folk!

We are not of this world.

John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
KJV

We are a peculiar people.

1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
KJV

We are not “equipped” in the manner of the world.

If (and I do use that word purposefully...not all who profess to be believers unto salvation are truly saved&hellipWinking you are saved, then the Holy Spirit dwells within you.

Jesus told us that the Father would send through the Son another (of the same kind) that would do some specific things.

The country in which most of us live is in turmoil...ever increasing turmoil.

There is debate. There is discussion.

The bottom line is this...there is truth and there is lie.

We, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, are not of the world.

We are not limited to debate, discussion and the processes of man to determine truth.

We are equipped by the Most High God to discern truth from error/lie.

The Body of Christ has been given the very Presence of God, the Holy Spirit.
He will give us discernment in all things.

This does not mean that each individual believer will have knowledge and understanding in all things. The Holy Spirit gives “spirituals” to the Body for the upbuilding and edifying of the Body. The word of wisdom and word of knowledge are two such. The Spirit gives when and to whom the Lord desires for the Body.

In the midst of our current situation, we would do well to function within the Spirit rather than within the natural. Take just a moment and read what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit...

John 14:12-17
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
KJV

John 14:26-27
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
KJV

John 15:26-27
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
KJV

John 16:7-15
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
KJV

I know how you feel with the issues of the day.
I experience the same.

I see/hear the thoughts of many and want to respond. I have it all laid out...logical, perhaps even a stumbling into coherence...yet, my mind is jumbled and fragmented. Then, I realize that I’m responding more in the flesh...though what I’m saying is true… the response is not lead and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

We must speak the truth in the Spirit.

Remember, our weapons are not as the worlds…

2 Cor 10:3-4
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
NASU

Lastly, we are to live in the following manner...

2 Cor 6:1-10
1 Working together with Him, we also appeal to you: "Don't receive God's grace in vain."
2 For He says: In an acceptable time, I heard you, and in the day of salvation, I helped you. Look, now is the acceptable time; look, now is the day of salvation.
3 We give no opportunity for stumbling to anyone, so that the ministry will not be blamed.
4 But in everything, as God's ministers, we commend ourselves: by great endurance, by afflictions, by hardship, by pressures,
5 by beatings, by imprisonments, by riots, by labors, by sleepless nights, by times of hunger,
6 by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love,
7 by the message of truth, by the power of God; through weapons of righteousness on the right hand and the left,
8 through glory and dishonor, through slander and good report; as deceivers yet true;
9 as unknown yet recognized; as dying and look—we live; as being chastened yet not killed;
10 as grieving yet always rejoicing; as poor yet enriching many; as having nothing yet possessing everything.

“Train Up…”

Blessings Folk!!

Well, locally the summer is over and government schools begin this week.

Let us pray for the students, teachers, administrator and support staff.

Now, pray for parents and families.

Hear me carefully...time for a preemptive disclaimer… Happy Happy

I know many, many good, God-fearing educators. Where we live we are blessed with Superintendents of Education that are strong believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. We have many teachers who are believers without compromise. Many know the truth of the Word and the truth of the law.

We are blessed.

Most places are not this way.

So, first of all, there are many true believers in educational circles.

Second, I know a little about this...have advanced academic degrees in education. If I had pursued teaching within government schools I would have 32+ years. Wait!! I would have retired 2 years ago...oh well… Happy Happy

Therefore, I declare to you that there are serious problems with the way that we as believers are “raising” our children.

The bottom line is this.

We pay somebody else to do what the Lord tells us to do.

We pay the teacher/system to teach our children.
We place our children under the tutelage of others...and do so at a younger and younger age. It really breaks my heart when I see parents “enrolling” their children in school at age 2.
Do parents really know what they are doing?
Do parents really understand what they are missing?
Do parents really understand the role they are abdicating?

Here is what the Lord says…

Prov 22:6
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
KJV

Deut 6:6-7
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
KJV

So, heed the word of warning...

Do not depend upon the schools to “educate” and train your child...at least in the ways of the Lord...
Do not hope that “the church” will teach your child.

Parents have the primary role.
Grandparents and other family members are very important.
The Body of Christ has an important function.

Parents, train up your child.

You only have a few years for the task.

A quick Bible story at bedtime will not do.
A weekly sunday school class and yearly “vacation bible school” are inadequate.

Set aside your wants and desires for that which is best for your children.

We must teach…

  • diligently
  • talking as you sit in the house
  • talking as you walk (travel)
  • as you lie down
  • as you rise up

Seek the Lord as to what He would have you to do.

- Perhaps He will direct you to enroll your child in government schools.

- Perhaps He will direct you to enroll your child in a private/religious/parochial school. (Though subject matter is often better than government schools, the methodologies are usually those of man&hellipWinking
- Perhaps He will lead you to teach your child - homeschool - fear not, the Lord thy God is with thee! Happy Happy

The important thing is that we as parents seek the Lord with every breath and speak/live of such before our children.

Folk, let us tell our children of…
  • the ways of the Lord
  • the wonders of the Lord
  • the works of God
  • what He has done in our lives

Why?

That they might put their hope in God...read the following…

Ps 78:1-8
1 Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
3 Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord , and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
KJV

The Lord has given us a tremendous blessing in our children.

If you want to know more about the true foundation of government education go to this website. Read the book. It is free online. Read the author’s bio. You will have to press through. The book is factual, intense and highly detailed.

“Fed Up…”

How did things go “on the night bed” last evening?

Keep pressing in and on.

Worship the Lord continuously.

Pray without ceasing.

The Lord is preparing and using a mighty army for the Kingdom of God.

Yesterday I posted the following as “my status” on the various social networks - FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, Yahoo, Imeem, etc.

“...so, your getting ‘fed-up’ with it...what are you gonna do?”

Had several interesting responses.

Of course, folk always want to know “what do you mean?”

I meant several things…

But primarily, there is a stirring afoot among believers...a move of the Spirit...a move that is bringing correction to self and motivation to speak forth the truth.

The status quo is no longer satisfactory.

The Lord is calling us to speak to those in the church…

  • to encourage
  • to exhort
  • to pursue love

The Lord is calling us to speak to the world…
  • to proclaim the good news of the love of the Lord
  • to proclaim salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ
  • to call for repentance, confession and transformation in the Lord.

The Lord is calling us to be the salt of the earth.

The Lord is calling us to be the light of the world.

So, you are “fed-up”. What are you gonna do?

I like my friend’s Flipper response…”push away from the table.”
There is much wisdom in this...especially for the church.
Too many believers are “stuffed” with truth they refuse to give out.
It is time to “give out” as well as “take in.”

Here are the things we are to do…

  1. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness
  2. Wait for Him to add the other things
  3. Pray without ceasing
  4. Rejoice
  5. Be obedient
  6. Be Berean...don’t just trust what someone told you or what you think you know the Word says...study to show yourself approved.
  7. Be faithful
  8. Pursue holiness
  9. Pursue love
  10. Die to self

Of course, more could be listed.

If the Lord stirs within you to do something, then do it.
If the Lord leads you to speak to the Body of Christ, then do it.
If the Lord leads you to speak to the sins of society, then do it.
If the Lord leads you to address family, friends, co-workers, etc., then do it.

Speak forth the truth.

Fear not.

Who knows, perhaps it is not too late for our families.
Perhaps it is not too late for the country in which we live.

With God, all things are possible.

Matt 19:26
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
KJV

Mark 10:27
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
KJV

Luke 18:27
27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
KJV

With God, nothing is impossible.

Luke 1:37
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
KJV

“Seven Times a Day…”

Blessings Folk!!

We have seen that we are to pray without ceasing…

1 Thess. 5:17
Pray without ceasing

How do we pray without ceasing?
Do we not sleep?
Do we not work?
Etc. etc.

We have spoke of this in the past.

Prayer is communication and communion with God.

A true believer indwelled by the Holy Spirit should always be in communion with God. The only time we are not is when we choose to...when we choose to sin.

The Word gives us some interesting insight into how this is practically lived.

Ps 55:17
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
KJV

Give close attention to this verse...

Ps 119:164
Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.
KJV

The Psalmist declared that seven times a day he would praise the Lord.

Here is another…

Ps 119:62
62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.
KJV

Then…
Ps 63:6
When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
KJV

The Psalmist declared that he would worship the Lord all day.

Does this mean that he used a structured approach?...6, 9, noon, 3, 6, 9 midnight…?

Perhaps.

The main principle is that we are to praise, pray and worship without ceasing.

Even upon our bed in the night watches.

I believe...and know by experience…that some of the most intense and intimate times of worship that I have ever experienced have been during sleep...while the body is resting.

We see such here…

Ps 42:8
Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
KJV

Ps 77:6
I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
KJV

Ps 119:55
I have remembered thy name, O Lord , in the night, and have kept thy law.
KJV

Ps 149:5
Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
KJV

Try it.

Pray, worship, praise without ceasing today.

Then tonight, as you prepare for the night bed, ask the Lord to join you as you sleep.

Let me know what happens. Happy Happy

“God’s Will…”

Blessings Folk!!

There is a question that is often asked in the Body of Christ.

What is God’s will for me?

We saw the answer in our last time together.

Didn’t see it?

Fret not...look again…

1 Thess 5:14-22

14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
16 Rejoice always
17 Pray without ceasing
18 In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
20 Do not despise prophecies
21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.
22 Abstain from every form of evil

What is the will of God?

The Lord makes if very clear.

His will is that we should…

Rejoice always.
Pray without ceasing.
Give thanks in everything.
Warn the unruly.
Comfort the faint-hearted.
Uphold the weak.
Be patient with all.
Do not quench the Spirit.
Do not despise prophecies.
Test all things.
Hold fast to what is good.
Abstain from every form of evil.

This is the will of God.

But look at the detail…

This is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

God’s will is manifested in Christ Jesus for each believer to be lived out by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Most of the time when someone is seeking “the will of God” it is related to a particular decision, direction, etc.

This is fine.

But, how much more would we understand if we would simply do what God tells us.

If we do what He says - rejoice, pray, give thanks, etc. - then I suspect that the will of God would be abundantly clear.

It goes to that which we have examined so many times in the past - seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness...everything else will be added.

Are you still reflecting upon the other phrase?….”upon your night bed”?

Ps 63:6
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
KJV

More next time...it relates to praying without ceasing… Happy Happy

Meanwhile, let us do the will of God...be obedient.

Pray especially for the Reed family...homegoing of godly matriarch Jean. Also pray for Herman.
