“Dress For Action…”

Blessings folk!

Job places his hand over his mouth.
He would not speak as God questioned.

God’s questions move beyond comparing Himself with Job.
Beyond creation.

God cuts to the problem.

Read…

Job 40:6-9

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:

“Dress for action like a man;
I will question you, and you make it known to me.

Will you even put me in the wrong?
Will you condemn me that you may be in the right?

Have you an arm like God,
and can you thunder with a voice like his?

The Lord tells Job to “dress for action”…literally “gird your loins.”
He then demands that Job answer questions.

Will Job really “put me in the wrong?”…blame God for wrong.
Will Job really condemn God so that he would appear to be in the right?

Job had done this.
He had blamed God.
He had condemned God so that he would appear right.

We do this all the time.
Shift blame.
Fault others.

Such should not be.

We do not have “an arm like God”, an anthropomorphic picture of the strength and power of the Lord.

We do not thunder with a voice like His.

Rather than condemning, we should be humbly rejoicing that He is Lord.
