“Secret Giving”

Today’s reading:
Matthew 6:1-4

Believers are rewarded.
Believers will be rewarded.

In this corporeal existence our reward will be either the self-created accolades of man or the reward of Father.

Jesus was warning the people.

Do not seek to display your righteousness (“giving of alms” KJV), particularly via charitable endeavors, for the sake of being seen by people.

Give in humility.
Be not be as the hypocrites who trumpet their work, their giving, their labor.
In doing this, they receive their reward...from man.

Rather, give “in secret”, without trumpeting your giving, your work, your labor.
Allow Father, Who sees in secret, to reward you.

Which are you pursuing?
The reward of man?
The reward of Father?
