Gen 9:3-6

“Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant.

“Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.

“Surely I will require your lifeblood; from every beast I will require it. And from every man, from every man’s brother I will require the life of man.

“Whoever sheds man’s blood,
By man his blood shall be shed,
For in the image of God
He made man.

The Lord would give more detail about the blood required from beast in the Law, yet many years down the road.

The picture here is that life will be required for life.
If someone kills someone, then their life life would be required.

Why?

Because man is made in the image of God.

Murder kills one made in the image of God.

The Lord takes this seriously.

So should we.

I know.
Questions abound.
What about “war”?
What about “accidental” killing?

The Lord explains more through the Word.
For today, know this truth.

Man is not to shed man’s blood…murder.
