“Clothed With Power…”

Blessings folk!

Jesus had opened the minds of the disciples to the Scripture.
He does the same for us.
He is the only way to know and understand the Scripture.
Jesus specifically speaks of what was written of the Christ...His suffering, His rising from the dead on the third day, repentance for forgiveness of sins to all the nations in Jesus.

Jesus then declares.
“You are witnesses of these things”

Luke 24:48-53
48 “You are witnesses of these things.
49 “And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.
51 While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
52 And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
53 and were continually in the temple praising God.

They were witnesses.

Jesus told them to stay in the city until they were clothed with power from high.
They would received the Promise of Father.
The Holy Spirit.

Some had already received the Spirit.

John 20:19-23
So when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and *said to them, “Peace be with you.”
And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, “
Receive the Holy Spirit.
“If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained.”

Many within the church today are the same.
They are saved, indwelled by the Spirit.
But, they are not empowered by the Spirit.

We must be empowered by the Spirit of the Lord.
Seek, ask, tarry.

We as True Believers are also witnesses.
Witnesses of what the Lord did.
Witnesses of what He did in our lives.
Witnesses of what He is doing in our lives.

Remember, the most powerful witness you can give is your life.
Speak of what the Lord has done and is doing in you.
Live holy as the manifest Presence of the Lord.
Endued with Power from the Most High.
