“Know For Certain…”

Blessings folk!

Abram trusted the Lord.
He believed the Word/Promises of the Lord.
Yet, he wondered.
Who would be his descendants?
Would his offspring be from a servant?

The Lord tells Abram that his offspring would be from his body.

The Lord then calls Abram to sacrifice…to worship.

Abram then fell into a deep sleep.

The Lord then spoke to Abram…

Gen 15:13-14

God said to Abram, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed four hundred years.

“But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out with many possessions.

God told Abram that there are things that he was to know for certain…

  • he would have descendants
  • his descendants would be strangers in a land not theirs
  • his descendants would be enslaved and oppressed in this strange land for 400 years
  • God will judge the nation that enslaved them
  • afterwards, they would come out of the nation with many possessions

Too many believers do not know these truths.

The Lord revealed to Abram what would happen to his descendants many years beforehand.

He revealed of the Egyptian enslavement.

The children of Israel would have know this.
They knew the length of time.

Amazing.

We can know for certain the truths of the Lord.
Do we?
