"No Greater Joy…"

“No Greater Joy…”

Blessings folk!

John, the Apostle, was rejoicing.
Full of joy.

We know that the Word tells us to be filled with the joy of the Spirit.

Romans 14:17
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Read.
See what was bringing joy to John.
He was writing to Gaius.
Note the keyword “truth”.

3 John 1:1-4
1 The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.
2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
3 For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth.
4 I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.

John was rejoicing because Gaius was continuing to walk in the truth.
John boldly declares that he had no greater joy than this.

So different from most professing believers today.
Most rejoice when their children excel in academics, sports, business, etc.
When was the last time we rejoiced because of the pursuit of the Kingdom in our offspring - physical and spiritual?

Walking in truth brings…

  • peace
  • joy
  • patience
  • holiness
  • long-suffering
  • and the like!

May we rejoice in that which brings joy to Father.
