"No Longer Steal..."

“No Longer Steal…”

Blessings folk!

We have seen that repentance, confession, belief, faith in the Lord Jesus will bring forth a changed and ever-transforming life.

The following is an example.
An example with insight often overlooked.

Ephesians 4:28
28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.

Someone who was once a thief but who is now saved is to no longer steal.

The same can be said of the…

  • liar
  • cheat
  • gossip
  • defrauder
  • murder
  • greedy
  • etc.

Notice what he is to do.
Rather than steal, he is to labor.

This is a much-needed word for our society today.
Rare is the day when we do not see people stealing.
Stealing “legally”.
Stealing “illegally”.

Our western government has created entire castes of society in the name of “helping the poor” that has resulted in a situation where it does not “pay to work”.

This has been done on purpose.

Destruction of honest labor and work is the goal.

Why?

Dependency.
We have seen the evil fruit of dependency.

The Word tells us to labor, to do honest work with our hands.

Did you see the purpose of such?

Not exclusively to meet one’s own needs...nor just the needs of the family.

But, so that we can have something to share with anyone...anyone...in need.

The creation of a society of dependents and takers has undermined the structure of the Most High.

God wants us to meet the needs of one another.
Not through the coercion of command and mandate at the tip of a barrel, but through obedience to the instruction of the Holy Spirit.

We as the Body of Christ have allowed the world to usurp and pervert that which God desires to do.

Let us repent.
Let us pursue the ancient path of the Lord.

Labor.
Work with your own hands.
Give as the Lord directs.
