"Cain - of the Evil One"

“Cain - of the Evil One”

Blessings folk!

Let us followup some on what we saw yesterday.

The men in Jude had gone the way of Cain.

We saw yesterday how Cain had refused to worship in the prescribed manner that God instructed.

Cain was full of anger.
Anger that eventuated in the murder of his brother Abel.

God gave Cain opportunity to repent.
Cain refused.

The Word gives us even more insight.

In the midst of one of the most profound passages in the Word related to love, especially love of the brethren, we read this…

1 John 3:11-15
11 For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous.
13 Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you.
14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death.
15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

This is a serious truth that the Body of Christ must understand and obey.

We should love one another.

If someone states that they are a “believer”, yet they do not love their brother, then this Word says they are a murderer on the level of Cain.
Murderers do not inherit the Kingdom.

Later on in 1 John we see that such folk are liars.
Liars do not inherit the Kingdom.

If we do not love, we abide in death.
If we do not love, then we are Cain...of the evil one, evil deeds.

Love is manifested and confirmed by deeds.
One may say that he loves, but if the pattern and practice of life is that of lie, deception, back-biting, etc. etc., then the Word boldly declares that they are not saved.

Many religious in the organized church live this way.

Be not one of them.

2 Corinthians 13:5
5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

Guard your heart.
Guard your tongue.

Seek to love in the Lord.

There are entire portions of the Body of Christ where there is a “culture” of lying, deception, complaining, grumbling, mumbling, manipulation, etc....deeds of the flesh.

May we repent of such and manifest the fruit of the Spirit.

Many simply need to be saved.
They will never be able to manifest the fruit of the Spirit because they have not the Spirit.
But, when they do...life abundant will pour forth as rivers of righteousness.

Flow Lord!
