“I AM, You Will See…”

Blessings folk!

Jesus is before the high priest
False accusers have come and gone.
Even those who hated Jesus and wanted Him dead knew that the accusations were not credible.
They needed more.

Mar 14:60-65

The high priest stood up and came forward and questioned Jesus, saying,
“Do You not answer? What is it that these men are testifying against You?”

But He kept silent and did not answer.
Again the high priest was questioning Him, and saying to Him,
“Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”

And Jesus said,

Tearing his clothes, the high priest said, “What further need do we have of witnesses?

“You have heard the blasphemy; how does it seem to you?”
And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death.

Some began to spit at Him,
and to blindfold Him,
and to beat Him with their fists,
and to say to Him,
And the officers received Him with slaps in the face.

The high priest pressed in with questions after the false accusers.
Why did Jesus not answer?
Why have you not responded/defended Yourself against these men?

The priest cut to the issue.
“Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”

Jesus answered.
“I AM”
The response God gave upon Moses’ inquiry as to Who was sending him.

Jesus was acknowledging that He was “I AM’, but He did not stop there.

“You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

Jesus was referencing the Old Testament - Daniel 7:13-14 to be exact.

Dan 7:13-14

“I kept looking in the night visions,
And behold, with the clouds of heaven
One like a Son of Man was coming,
And He came up to the Ancient of Days
And was presented before Him.

“And to Him was given dominion,
Glory and a kingdom,
That all the peoples, nations and men of every language
Might serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
Which will not pass away;
And His kingdom is one
Which will not be destroyed.

They knew what Jesus was saying.
You saw the responses:

  • The high priest tore his clothes
  • The high priest declared blasphemy
  • They all condemned Him to death
  • Spit
  • Blindfolded
  • Beat
  • Mocked by demands to “prophesy”
  • Slapped

As we are in the season of celebrating His coming the first time, remember what He endure for us.

Rejoice in His coming soon…and all that will be done then.
