Gal 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

I believe the main reason for lack of peace in the life of the Believer is that we do not do this…

Isa 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

A Promise.
The Lord tells us that He will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him…the one who is stedfast of mind in the Lord…the one who trust in Him.

Yes, we proclaim that we trust and rest our minds upon the Lord, but cares, anxiety, fear and the like betray the truth.

What are we to do?

1Pe 5:6-7
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time,
casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God.
Cast all your anxiety/cares on Him.
