“The Lord Will Show Who Is His”

Blessings folk!

Korah and 250+ of the leadership of Israel rose up in defiance of Moses and Aaron.

They basically asked “who put you in charge?”

The answer - God.

Moses/Aaron’s response?

Num 16:4-7

When Moses heard this, he fell on his face;

and he spoke to Korah and all his company, saying,
“Tomorrow morning the LORD will show who is His, and who is holy,
and will bring him near to Himself;
even the one whom He will choose,
He will bring near to Himself.

“Do this: take censers for yourselves, Korah and all your company,

and put fire in them, and lay incense upon them in the presence of the LORD tomorrow;
and the man whom the LORD chooses shall be the one who is holy.
You have gone far enough, you sons of Levi!”

Moses did as we should do.
He fell on his face.
Not before the leadership.
But before God.
Not out of fear of the leadership.
Rather, in fear “for” the leadership.
He sought the Lord.

Moses received what he was to do.
Apparently the Lord told him.

He told Korah and his company to…

  • Show up tomorrow morning
  • Take censers for themselves
  • Put fire in the censers
  • Lay incense on the censers in the presence of the Lord

God would…
  • Show who is His
  • Show who is holy
  • Bring near to Himself those He chooses…who are His

The Lord would choose.

Then Moses says this…”you have gone far enough, you sons of Levi!”

Moses knew a line had been crossed.

Leadership often does the same today.
Crosses line that are not meant for them.

Do not do as Korah and company…we are about to see why…
