Glory of God - Honor of Kings

Blessings Folk!!

Today’s reading from the “So That’s Why!” Bible consists of pages 139-144, Leviticus 5-10.

Often when folk are reading through the Word of God they get bogged down in portions thereof.

We had a gentleman last week ask “how long will we be in all the begats?” He was questioning the purpose of some that he was reading. Yet, still he was reading. Yeah!!
Leviticus often brings the same question. Why all the detail about sacrifices? What is the point to the “new testament” church?

Here is the short answer to a deep question. HappyHappy

Every word in the Word is of import.

The “family trees” are revealing. They trace the line from which Messiah would come. They actually give insight into the news of the days. The struggles in the mid-east are family squabbles. Many mid-eastern folk are of the line of Abraham. Now with rejection of Messiah (Jews) and acceptance of deception (Islam) the struggle continues to increase.

The intense detail related to the Tabernacle of Moses and the varied sacrifices and offerings are very interesting.

Every detail reveals or foreshadows an element of redemption through the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.

Every part of the Tabernacle is a “type” of the Lord...the silver sockets, the layout, the hooks, the materials, the patterns, etc. etc. The most minute of design is significant.

Much has been written about such through the years. I have books with literally hundreds of pages examining the truths revealed in the Tabernacle and the sacrifices.

“But,” you say, “what does that have to do with me? What is to be learned...gleaned…?”

Hear the Word of the Lord…

Prov 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing:
but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
KJV

God has concealed much within His Word.

He is not trying to be deceptive or anything of the like.

He desires for us to search out the matter…to study to show ourselves approved…

2 Tim 2:15-16
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
KJV

We are to search out the matter so as to have more of the glory of the Lord revealed.

The Word warns us...shun profane and vain babblings...this is much of what occurs when folk...particularly the “scholarly”...seek to “search out the matter.” They become more enamored with their ability to present striking explanations than they do with the revealing of the glory and Truth of God. They exalt man and his ability to understand and reason.

Our searching should bring us to greater intimacy with the Lord.
Our searching should allow the revelation of God to increase.
Our searching should bring forth the continued increase in holiness.

In the searching of the matter the humility of the Lord will increase within us.

Therefore, press on through the “hard” passages.

Ask the Lord to reveal to you that which He has for today.

Read and listen.
He will instruct.

We are honored by having access to the Word of God. Most of the true church through the ages has not been blessed with their own personal copies.

Luke 12:48
For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
KJV
