Blessings folk!
Paul is coming to a point.
How do I know?
He says so.
What does the Lord tell us about giving…
2 Co 9:6-9
The point is this:
whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly,
and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart,
not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all grace abound to you,
so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times,
you may abound in every good work.
As it is written,
“He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.”
We are to “sow” bountifully.
We will thereby reap bountifully.
We are to give as each one has decided in his heart.
Not reluctantly.
Not under compulsion (we have been “compulsed” for far too long).
We are to give with cheer, joy…hilariously!
God loves this.
God is able to make all grace abound toward us.
God will give all sufficiency in all things at all times.
All sufficiency.
All things.
All times.
God freely distributes His enduring righteousness…forever.
This is a different picture of giving compared to what most have experienced.
Cheer.
Joy.
Freedom.
Liberty.
As each individual determines in their heart.
Without reluctance.
Without compulsion.
God directed.
Sounds exciting, no?
Sow bountifully.
