“Shacking-Up With Seducing Spirits”

Blessings Folk!!

I have been asked by many in recent days what I thought of a book called “The Shack.”

Therefore, I decided a few months back to read it...had it laying around the house somewhere.

I’d actually started it when it was first released, but didn’t get far.

This time I think I read 60-70 pages.

I just couldn’t “get into it.”

Now, one of the things that I think I’m suppose to do is sift through stuff for that portion of the Body of Christ I encounter...have done it for years. Often the Lord will lead me to read something and I don’t understand why. Later I learn why. Someone will have a question. Someone will be confused.

I thought such would be the case this time.

Still, I couldn’t finish it.

I think the Lord was sparing my time. Also showing that I don’t have to “read ‘em all.”

Albert Mohler wrote a wonderfully brief and concise review of the book. It encapsulates much of what I have heard.

This book is having high impact among those who profess to be believers.

What is being revealed is that much of the church doesn’t know the truth of the Lord.

Sunday School classes are discussing the book.
Groups are formed around it.

I’m reminded of an acquaintance who said, “Oh, we don’t study the Bible at our church. We read books.”

We should not be surprised.

The Lord told us such would happen.

In the last days there would be deception.
In the last days folk would heed and exalt in the doctrines of man.
In the last days folk would want to have their ears tickled.
In the last days some within the faith would give heed to doctrine of demons.

Don’t believe me?

1 Timothy 4
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Timothy 4
1 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom:
2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,
4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

Many more passages warn us of this.

You have now been warned.

To what do you give the greatest time?
The works of man?
The Word of God?

Remember, the strategy of the enemy is to insert deception into that which looks like the truth.

Therefore,
Seek the Lord.
Saturate yourself in His Word.
Then, you will be equipped to walk yourself and those around you through the fiery land mines of the enemy.

Blessings!!
