Pilate reached the end of what he would do.
He therefore, took water, washed his hands in front of the crowds and declared that he was innocent of Jesus’ blood.
He was not innocent.
He could have set Him free.

Did you catch the curse that the crowd spoke upon themselves?
“His blood shall be on us and on our children!”
So let it be spoken.
So let it be done.
Such has been and continues to be so.
(Many perverse teachings have arisen from this passage. Be discerning. But, no doubt they spoke a curse upon themselves.)

Pilate had Jesus scourged - plausible deniability for Pilate before the politicians and religionists. He hoped to satisfy the crowd. Gotta please the masses!

The same happens today.
Governmental and religious rulers only seek to please the masses...so as to keep their positions.

Much harm has been done to the organism of the Body of Christ by such.

Refuse to participate.
