"Preferential Honor"

“Preferential Honor”

Blessings folk!

We looked yesterday at the following passage.
Did you note the “OneAnother”s?

Read again…

Romans 12:10-13
10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;
11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,
13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

We see that we are to be devoted to OneAnother.

Our relationship is covenant in nature.
We are One in the Spirit.
The “devotion” is already there.
We are to live in it.
When we abide in the Lord, we will do so.
When we “step outside” the abiding of the Lord, we will not.

I like this next part…”give preference to OneAnother in honor”.
We are to think of the other before ourselves.
We are to walk in humility before OneAnother.
We are to honor OneAnother.

Often within the Body of Christ we see that “honor and preference” are expected/demanded due to the nature of the functioning within the Body.

This is wrong.

We are to walk in honor before each other.
Every member of the Body.
Yes, there are different callings/functions...some more visible than others...but each is to give preference to OneAnother in honor.

How different the Body would be if simply did this.

Join me in living this way?
