"Where Is the Lamb?"

“Where Is the Lamb?”

Blessings folk!

Abraham continues the process of obedience.
He is on the journey to sacrifice his son…at the command of the Lord.

Watch the details.

Gen 22:6-8

Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So the two of them walked on together.

Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

Abraham said, “God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” So the two of them walked on together.

Some hints.

Isaac was old enough to carry the wood for the burnt offering.
Isaac was old enough to know what they were doing.
Isaac was old enough to inquire as to what was being offered?

Their conversation was reflective of that between God and Abraham.
“Here I am.”

Abraham was wise of age.
“The Lord will provide for Himself the lamb…” The Lord had told Abraham.
Abraham knew it was the Lord’s choice/decision/command.
The Lord would provide.
He would provide the sacrifice.
He would provide the solution to a sacrificially dead Isaac.
The Lord would fulfill His Word.
Though things make no sense in his/our eyes, the Lord will provide.

They walked on…together.

May we trust and walk in like manner.
