“Confess. Do. Separate.”

Blessings folk!

The people gathered together.

They were trembling.

Trembling because of the weight of the matter at hand.
Trembling because of the rain.

Read…

Ezra 10:10-11
Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them,
“You have been unfaithful and have married foreign wives adding to the guilt of Israel.

“Now therefore, make confession to the LORD God of your fathers and do His will;
and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the foreign wives.”

The Word of the Lord had come through Shecaniah to Ezra.
Ezra arose.
Ezra knew it was his responsibility to address the issue.
Ezra was to be courageous.
Ezra was to act
He did.

He declared the truth.
He revealed the problem.

The people had been unfaithful.
The people had married foreign wives.
This act had added to the guilt of Israel…hummm…interesting.

Ezra then provided the solution.
Confess to the Lord.
Do the will of the Lord.
Separate yourself from the peoples of the land.
Separate yourself from the foreign wives.

An insightful patter for us today.
Confess.
Do the will of the Lord.
Separate yourself from the world and things that distract.
