“The Law: Holy, Righteous, Good”

Blessings folk!

These are holy truths that we are examining.
They give insight into the struggle we have...within and without.

The Spirit continues to lead Paul in describing the Law and sin to the Body of Christ in Rome…

Rom 7:9-12
I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive and I died;
and this commandment, which was to result in life, proved to result in death for me;
for sin, taking an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me.
So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

Begin with the last line.

The Law is holy.
The commandment is holy.
It is righteous.
It is good.
Keep this in mind.

Paul declares he once lived apart from the Law.
But, when the commandment came and he was aware...he understood...then sin became alive for him and he died.
He then knew what was right/wrong.
The commandment which was to result in life...to not sin...resulted in death.
Why? How?
Now being aware of sin, the sin took opportunity...deceived him. Killed him.

In the flesh we cannot control sin.
In the flesh that which was to result in life results in death.

So then, the Law is holy, righteous, good.

What is the conclusion?

We shall see...
