“Knelt and Stretched Out”

Blessings folk!

King Solomon steps forth.

The building is done.
The Ark is in place.

What is next?

We will see that Solomon will pray.

Note his posture.
Note his position.
Note who is there.

2 Ch 6:12-13

Then he stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands.

Now Solomon had made a bronze platform,
five cubits long, five cubits wide and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and he stood on it, knelt on his knees in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven.

Solomon had a bronze platform built upon which to stand.
So he could see the people?
So that the people could see him?
Likely both.

He stood on the platform, as expected of a king.
He knelt on his knees in the presence of the people…unexpected/rare for a king.
He then spread out his hands (and arms!) toward heaven.

A position of humility.
Before the people.
Before the Lord.
(Interesting that today kneeling has become a position of defiance&hellipWinking

Oh how we as the people of the Lord need to walk in humility before one another and the world.

Jas 4:10
Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

1Pe 2:17
Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.
